089 – 8 Fragen, 9 Antworten mit Jordan Prince

Wie sein Name schon vermuten lässt, ist Jordan Prince alles andere als ein Urmünchner. Ihn hat es vor fast zwei Jahren aus New Orleans nach München verschlagen und seitdem hat er sich als Singer-Songwriter nicht nur in der Stadt, sondern in ganz Bayern und bis nach Hamburg einen Namen gemacht. Wer den sympathischen Amerikaner nicht schon allein wegen seiner Musik und der sanften Stimme ins Herz schließt, der wird das spätestens, wenn er mal ein paar Worte mit ihm gewechselt hat.

In München genießt Jordan Prince vor allem typische Dinge, wie die vielen Biergärten oder baden in der Isar. Er selbst lebt in Untergiesing und die Stadt erkundet er am liebsten auf dem Rad. Dabei lässt er sich gerne treiben, beobachtet die Menschen und genießt, dass München zwar ein Dorf ist, aber doch eine Nummer größer als das, aus dem er ursprünglich kommt.

1. Das Schönste, das ein Türsteher in München einmal zu dir gesagt hat?

The only doormen I've ever encountered are at Club Sauna, and if I'm drunk enough to want to go to Club Sauna, I'm just lucky when they let me in...because I act like a fool in there. So I guess the most beautiful thing a drunk guy can hear when waiting outside the door is, "Ok, you're next."

2. Deine teuerste Taxifahrt?

In Munich thankfully I haven't needed to take so many taxis, and nothing is too far away! So maybe the most I've spent is around 25 Euro.

3. Was wirst du in München nie verstehen?

Traffic. If people stand in the bike lane, the cyclists scream and ring their bells. If the bikes go into the car lane, the drivers scream and honk their horns. When the cars try to move through an intersection where people are walking, the people scream and raise their fists. What's the rush?

4. Wann und wo hast du zuletzt jemanden Bekanntes getroffen?

I met Win Butler (Arcade Fire) at a warehouse party in New Orleans on New Year's Eve like two years ago. He is a huge man, very tall. Not very nice though.

5. Wo kennst du den Kellner mit Namen?

There's an Italian restaurant by my apartment called Il Falco and I love this place! I don't know the name of the waiter there but it's still a special relationship. We joke with each other and he feels very comfortable with my friends. I like him very much, he's incredibly sweet.

6. Wohin flüchtest du, wenn Wiesn ist?

I imagine that for one whole day I'll be there at a table with friends in lederhosen and dirndl, but other than that I would only stop by once or twice more for a single mass and a game! I love the games.

7. Der schönste bayerische Fluch?

I don't know enough German to get the Bavarian curses yet, but I know that particular dialect sounds absolutely crazy to me haha!
